Good day my beautiful people!
I have another amazing podcast conversation I think you need to hear.
As you know, I’m the Tribal Prof (asst. coach) on Tribal Training, the online and in-person endurance training team run by
.Every month we record a ‘Tribal Cafe’ podcast where we explore ideas that are alive in our athletes training and competing through a broad philosophical lens.
But we saw something emerge on the team in between these monthly podcasts and decided to record an open conversation. We talk A LOT about subjective aims and processes on the team, that they should take precedence over objective goals and measures, but we needed to recalibrate the relationship between the two.
Without the objective results, record, or measurement, we don’t have the honest account of our effort and to know if we’re are physically improving in our sports through training and competing. This conversation resulted in a cool discussion about rediscovering the importance of the objective and fitting it into the subjective frame that orients our personal development journeys through endurance sports.
Take a listen below on the Spotify link or find the Tribal Training podcast anywhere you find your podcasts.
